Introduction
Namaste
My name is Alexandria Brown and I am currently living in sunny San Diego, California. I am an HR professional with all kinds of great experience under my belt. (You can find out more by visiting my LinkedIn profile: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/alexandria-brown/18/9a4/132).
If I was going to describe myself in 150 words or less I would say…
I really need more than 150 words to describe why I am truly unique! To try to sum it up, I am upbeat and energetic, I am a great communicator and I love to socialize (because isn’t that what recruiting really is stripped down?). I possess a great work ethic! I get great pleasure from recruiting for the most talented people for various jobs positions and placing them into position where they will have amazing success! Personally, I am loyal, generous, compassionate and a bit sassy. I am not afraid to speak my mind and I love to tackle challenges. I die for music, fashion, technology and politics which makes me a bit of an odd-ball but I embrace my complexities. I am a well-rounded, confident person who works hard for what she wants and find joys in achieving great success.
I love, love, love all things HR! From writing job descriptions to drafting employee performance appraisals to setting company salary ranges… I enjoy it all! This site is a new tool I will be using to share some things that I love about my occupational field as well as keep you posted on my personal current events. I hope to share human resources best practices, resourceful recruiting tips, and some HR strategic best practices with you.
Because we spend about 40-50% of our waking hours working, thinking about work, educating ourselves further to become more successful at work, loving your career is so important. I believe that it is important to be at peace with ourselves regarding our occupations. For so many of us, we define our happiness and personal acheivements around our professional success. That being said, we must be at peace with what we do and who we are to truly acheive the successes that we desire.
I will leave you with this thought: “Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” -Buddha
